Description:
The town owes its name to the presence of numerous brickworks which
characterized it during the Etruscan and Roman periods. During the
Medieval period it was an important castle. The old village is
gathered around the square onto which the church dei Santi Ippoliti
e Cassiano faces. On the side of the building there are the remains
of a very interesting mosaic coming from an old pieve. From the top
of its hills a splendid view over the countryside reveals the rural
architecture represented by numerous farm houses and Leopoldine
houses with their characteristic dove cotes, elements of tradition
and culture typical of this valley. In December there is a
particular exhibition of Nativity scenes which takes place in the
historic centre.
